Welcome to The Greater New Orleans Drum Corps Association Web site. The purpose of GNODCA is to preserve and build on the great tradition of the drum and bugle corps activity; to appropriately represent the greater New Orleans area as well as Louisiana, the United States and the drum and bugle corps activity worldwide; and to stimulate interest in the study and teaching of music and the arts.
The Crescent City Color Guard 2012 Season
The Crescent City Color Guard completed their undefeated 2012 season as the Independent A Class Champions at the Louisiana Color Guard and Percussion Circuit Championship competition on March 30. This was the second time in their four years taking this Championship. As they danced among filmstrips, their flag, saber and rifle skills accented the high points in their show. The performance of Friendships, Love and Regrets to Someone Like You by Adele, drew many points of spontaneous roars of applause, whoops and hollers that drowned out the music.
Congratulations to the Crescent City Color Guard. Job well done!!!!

A Sad Day in the Drum Corps World
Gary G. Sibley, 52, passed away on
Saturday, March 17, 2012 after being involved in a motor cycle/automobile
accident. Gary was a member of the Southern Rebels Drum line where he played
the cymbals when he was very young. Gary was a husband to Joy, good father to
his three adopted daughters, loving brother to his sister, Cindy and brothers,
Kevin, Greg & Jeff (deceased), and a devoted son. Gary’s parents Gloria
(deceased) and Frank were very active in their children’s drum corps life with
the Southern Rebels and the Bleu Raiders. They traveled with the groups: Frank
drove the buses and Gloria did whatever was needed. This family not only
supported the Drum Corps, but when members were at odds with their parents,
they had a safe house to spend the night and cool down. Even into adulthood
these kids could count on the Sibley’s support: sometimes just a supportive
phone call, sometimes a baby sitter, sometimes just a hug full of warmth and
hope. This is yet another tragic loss to this wonderful Drum Corps Family.
CCCG Wins 1st Place
The CCCG continued to deliver thrilling performances to audiences at Comeaux and Denham Springs HS taking first place at both contest with scores of 72.8 and 80.4 respectively. Numerous changes were made to enhance to the shows theme, Friendship, Love, and Regrets. The guard will perform next March 24 at Dutchtown HS and March 31 at the LCGPC Championships in Thibodeaux, LA.
